Fly Fishing at Condor River Lodge

We invite you to experience the unparalleled beauty and tranquility of the Condor River in Tierra del Fuego, Chile. Imagine being in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but pristine nature and the sound of rushing water as you cast your line into the river. Here, you can leave the stresses of daily life behind and immerse yourself in the magic of this special place.


At Condor River Lodge, we are fortunate to have exclusive access to this stunning river, and we take great pride in preserving its natural beauty. With no other anglers around to compete with, you can truly immerse yourself in the peacefulness of this remote wilderness. The Condor River is known for its crystal-clear waters, teeming with a variety of fish species, including the famous sea-run brown trout. As you fish, you'll be surrounded by awe-inspiring scenery, with snow-capped mountains, verdant forests, and stunning vistas in every direction.

Our Main All-Inclusive Program

What's Included?

Our main program at Condor River Lodge is designed for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the fishing experience in Tierra del Fuego. The program includes 7 nights of lodging at our beautiful fishing lodge, as well as 2 nights in a hotel. During your stay, you'll have the opportunity to fish for 6 full days, exploring the pristine and untouched waters of the Condor River.


To ensure an exclusive and personalized experience, we only allow groups of 4 people on this program. This means that you and your group will have the entire lodge to yourselves, ensuring complete privacy and tranquility during your stay.


With the help of our experienced guides, you'll have the chance to catch a variety of fish species that inhabit the Condor River, such as brown and rainbow trout, as well as salmon. Our guides are knowledgeable about the best techniques and locations for catching each species, ensuring that you have the best possible fishing experience.


When you're not out on the river, you'll be able to relax and unwind in the comfort of our lodge, enjoying delicious meals prepared by our talented chefs and taking in the breathtaking scenery of Tierra del Fuego.



Condor River Lodge Main Program:


  • 7 nights lodging (all meals and beverages included) & 2 nights hotel (breakfast included) / 6 full days fishing, private room (double occupancy) / private guide per group of four people: $7,500 per person.


Included:

  • Transportation to and from the airport, the hotel, the lodge, and on all fishing trips.
  • Hotel stay upon arrival and departure.
  • All meals, accommodations and beverages, including alcohol (domestic beer, selected Chilean house wines, soda and Pisco Sours) while lodging.
  • Guided fishing.
  • Other activities agreed before or after arrival.  
  • Chilean fishing license.


Not included:

  • International and domestic airfare.
  • Fishing equipment.
  • Trip insurance.
  • Tips to guide and lodge staff.


*Fishing equipment can be provided with previous requests. 

What to Expect?

Sample Itinerary

Please note that this is a sample itinerary. Fishing locations and schedules are arranged by the lodge in accordance to weather, water levels, and guest fishing/other activities preferences.


Day 1: Arrival


Upon arrival at Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport, a member of our lodge staff will be there to greet you and take you to your hotel in Punta Arenas for your first night's stay (if you arrive in the afternoon).  


Day 2: From Punta Arenas to the Lodge


The next day, we will pick you up at the hotel and take you on a breathtaking journey to the Condor River Lodge. The adventure begins with a 3-hour drive that includes a ferry crossing across the stunning Strait of Magellan from Punta Delgada Crossing to Bahía Azul Crossing. Then, a 9-hour drive to the lodge. Along the way, you might have the chance to stop by Parque de Pinguinos Rey, weather permitting and according to our customers' preferences. Once you arrive at the lodge, you'll be warmly welcomed and shown to your accommodations. After getting settled in, we'll serve you a delicious dinner to start your unforgettable trip. 


Before retiring to your room for the night, you'll have the opportunity to sit down with your guide or lodge manager to discuss your fishing plans or any other activities you might be interested in. With multiple rivers accessible by vehicle, there are plenty of fishing options to choose from, and your experienced bilingual guide will help customize your trip to ensure you have the best possible experience. Depending on fishing reports, weather conditions, and water levels, your guide will present you with a range of options, with minimum drive times of just 5 minutes and maximum times of up to 30 minutes. At Condor River Lodge, we're proud to employ some of the most skilled and knowledgeable guides in the region. 


Day 3-8: Full Days Fishing


Each morning at Condor River Lodge, guests are treated to a delicious and hearty breakfast, served promptly at 7:00 am. The kitchen is already buzzing with hot coffee, homemade bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, sausage, ham, marmalade, and pancakes, all prepared with care to ensure a satisfying start to the day. After breakfast, departure is typically at 8:00 am, and guests will be driven to their chosen fishing destination. Returning anytime between 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm for lunch, guests can either enjoy a sit-down meal or opt for a box lunch to take with them to the river. After lunch, it's back to the water for another few hours of fishing, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm– 8:30 pm. Upon returning to the lodge, guests are welcomed with a cocktail and appetizers before sitting down to a delicious dinner, during which the guides will discuss the following day's plans with their guests. The guides and staff at Condor River Lodge are always happy to accommodate guests' schedules, so if guests want to leave earlier or later to suit their fishing expectations, they will be more than happy to oblige. 


Day 9: Departure from the Lodge back to Punta Arenas


Time to say goodbye to Condor River Lodge. After breakfast, guests will check out of the lodge and begin the journey back to Punta Arenas. The return trip will take approximately 9 hours, including the ferry crossing. Guests will arrive at Punta Arenas in the late afternoon or early evening, where they will spend the night at the same hotel as the first night. This is to ensure that they are close to the airport for their departure the next day. 


Day 10: Back home


On day 10, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Punta Arenas and taken to Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport for their departure flight.

Activities

A day at Condor River Lodge: 


Although daily schedules are prepared according to the client's preferences, the following is a typical day at Condor River Lodge:

  • 6:00 a.m. wake up call
  • 7:00 a.m. breakfast in the dining room.
  • 8:00 a.m. depart in one of the lodge's vehicles to begin your day.
  • 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. lunch time.
  • 3:30 p.m. – 6:00/8:00 p.m. afternoon fish and return to the lodge.
  • 9:00 p.m. cocktails and dinner. Plan your next day's fishing.


 

Non-fishing activities: 


A number of recreational activities can be coordinated for the enjoyment of accompanying non-anglers. Examples include activities such as; hiking, birdwatching, wildlife photography, scientific expeditions, among others. These can be unforgettable half-day or full-day experiences that include transportation and lunch. The costs of these excursions/activities are included in the cost of the stay. Non-fishing activities are subject to advance planning and weather conditions.
